Aze – Silhouettes

Really interesting song here by Aze (Jiri Kurcik from the Czech Republic). It starts off almost like an epic film soundtrack with a meandering melody gliding delicately over some hustling tribal drums. (At this point I imagine some desperate hero leading the charge over some Scottish highlands battling gallantly to achieve victory against all odds!!) This leads eloquently into a wonderfully chopped up sample leaving the listener slightly bewildered before almost effortlessly the beat appears with a resonating deep bass to complete the overall affect. It is all crafted so naturally you can’t help but be swept away by the tune to some far off fantastical place. It is definitely one of the most unique tunes I have come across recently but I really am digging it.

Ower – Untitled

Ondra Vrba, otherwise known as Ower, originates from Bilina in the Czech Republic. He produces music on a fairly regular basis and it is always of a real high quality. This release carries on that trend with its warm beats and sporadic bursts of deep sounds creating an enchanting mix which you can completely lose yourself in. I have to say I am a big fan of this minimal type of DnB and Ower succeeds in getting the balance just right between creating a powerful beat but keeping everything nicely stripped back. Beautiful stuff…

Foolk – Speechless word

Another weird and wonderful concoction of noises, samples and beats from the ever-so talented Slovakian – Foolk. He has a way of crafting together sounds that have no right to be in the same space, yet he does it with a seeming-less ease that leaves you feeling somewhat perplexed but quietly intrigued all at the same time! What a clever chap!
